Sequoia Source Code Review

Secretary of State Website Summer 2007

In May of 2007, the California Secretary of State Debra Bowen began a "Top to Bottom Review" of the voting systems certified for use in the state of California. As part of the Sequoia source code review team, I helped examine the source code for the Sequoia AVC Edge touchscreen DRE voting machine, Sequoia Optech Insight optical scan voting machine, and Sequoia WinEDS election management system.

The public report is available on the Secretary of State's website.

Cenimation

Project Website • Fall 2006

As part of my project for my Information Visualization (ECS 272) course taught by Professor Ma, I came up with a concept for visualizing multiple dimensional data using animation. With the help of James Shearer, Michael Ogawa, Steve Haroz, and Professor Ma, this concept was realized as Cenimation. The project won the "Creative Winner" category at the 2006 InfoVis Competition.

Software Assurance CBK

Project Website • Summer 2006

In 2004, the Department of Homeland Security began an effort to develop a common body of knowledge for secure software assurance, known as the Software Assurance (SwA) Common Body of Knowledge (CBK). One of its stated goals was to provide a document to guide undergraduate and graduate curricula.

This project analyzes the SwACBK's applicability to programs for advanced undergraduate and graduate education, and provides suggestions for strengthening it. Our results were presented at the 10th Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education (CISSE) in June 2006.
